Air Survey Section

1.) Project Mapping

Yaqara Area – Topo data capture in progress covering proposed Studio City Area in anticipation of the commencement of the project work. Data capture at scale 1:1000 with 1m contour interval.

2.) Updating of Index (Digital)

1998 aerial photograph coverages of all urban areas have been digitized in MapInfo and main index updated.

New PCs (Large Scale Topo) have been updated on the index using microstation.

3.) Redrawing Old Index

The section now is involved in renewing 1951, 1953 Viti Levu & Vanua Levu old aerial photo index. Subsequently all old aerial photo index will be digitized in MapInfo and added onto the digital index.

* Different databases will be created for different indexes and formatted for access at the public counter.

4.) Digital Photogrammetry

Revised ministry budget confirmed allocation for the purchase of new Digital Photogrammetry Workstations for the section. Negotiations are underway for the scanning of films.
