Draughting Section

General Draughting Sub-Section:

Preparation of various legal and other diagrams as required by various sections and divisions of the department. These include:

- Crown Lease Diagrams
- Approval Notice Diagrams
- Tenancy At Will Diagrams
- Advertisement Diagrams
- Surrender Diagrams
- Licence Diagrams
- Acquisition Diagrams
- Proclamation Plans
- Vesting Diagrams
- Locality Diagrams
- Cabinet Paper Diagrams
- Crown Grant Diagrams
- Subdivision Proposal Diagrams
- Survey Plans

Searches and Investigations are also carried out whenever received and all Laminating orders and requests are also done in this section.

Records Sub-Section:

Most of the work carried out by Records Sub-Section, are done at the public counter. Duties carried out include:

- Serving at the Public Counter, selling maps, plan copies, air photos, laminations, photocopies, Vanua View copies, plan forms, field books.
- Recording and numbering of new survey plans
- Posting to clients and divisions
- Corresponding with clients
- Filing and maintenance of plans, maps calc sheets and other records at the Plan Room

In the General Draughting Sub-Section, most of the legal diagrams they are tasked to produce, are the ones which is shown on Leases, Licences, Crown Grants and other legal documents of the thousands of tenants leasing state lands throughout Fiji. They are responsible for producing locality diagrams, which helps the department decision makers decide on whether any state owned land is available for leasing when a person or an organization applies for that piece of land. They can also be tasked to carry out a detailed search or investigation on any land matter.

The Records Sub-Section are stationed at the map shop which is the official outlet for all the Maps, Plans and other data which are available for sale to the general public, citizens or otherwise.
