The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources is a key facilitator and contributor to the nation's socio-economic development within Government’s vision of Building a Better Fiji for All.
It is responsible for policy formulation, monitoring and implementation of programs in the areas governing state land administration, mineral sector and Fiji’s groundwater resource.
The Ministry’s activities are directly aligned to the People’s Charter for Change, Peace and Progress; the Strategic Framework for and the Roadmap for Democracy and Sustainable Socio-Economic Development 2009-2014.
Through our website, we are attempting to bridge the information gap of the Ministry, stakeholders and our clients so that together we can improve our services for the benefit of all.
The major objective is to facilitate the Development and Management of Land Resources for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development. We are working towards the Critical Government Outputs of Land Register and Land Reform.
The Department of Lands is one of the two departments within the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources which is led by Faiyaz Koya as Minister and Mr. Malakai Finau as Permanent Secretary. The Director Lands, Dr. Raijeli Taga is assisted by six Assistant Directors who manage our six major divisions.
The six major Divisions are: Surveys, Valuation, State Land Administration, Landuse/Land Reform and Geospatial Information Management. We operate from our offices based in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.
