OUR VISION
“VIBRANT, EQUITABLE, DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT OF OUR LAND AND MINERALS FOR A SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT AND ECONOMIC FUTURE”

PERMANENT SECRETARY’S STATEMENT

PSBula vinaka, Namaste and welcome to the Ministry of Lands & Mineral Resources official Website.

It is our objective that this website provides you with the information and services of the Ministry. Whether you are here intentionally seeking information on the Ministry services and activities or happen to stop by chance, I hope that you will find this site useful in your pursuit for information on State land, mineral, groundwater resources and the services of our earthquake and tsunami observatory.

As we embark into this period of Government’s reform initiatives for a better Fiji for all, the existence of a website that contains updated land information is vital.

In my capacity as the new Permanent Secretary, I would like to see great improvement in the service delivery of the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources. I acknowledge the need for further improvement in the area of state land leases and its administration and other areas.

Furthermore, this site is an attempt to inform you as stakeholders of the various services within the various Divisions in the Ministry, and explain the nature and objectives of each of the Division. This site will also feature various publications within the Ministry

The website will be updated from time to time to furnish you with forms, procedures relevant to the services and initiatives that we provide. For instance, the Ministry has pursued two new initiatives: (1) in the implementation of 24/7 earthquake and tsunami monitoring operation aimed to bring about better earthquake and tsunami monitoring given the increase in such events and the need for better preparation and (2) linkage provided by this website providing direct viewing of earthquake events as it happens.

I want to also take this opportune time to assure stakeholders, development partners and customers of the Ministry’s fullest commitments in undertaking a facilitative role in addressing your issues.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope that this will be the first of many other opportunities for you to visit this site.

For further queries and suggestions the website has provided new links as a representation of our commitment, in ensuring that we continue to evolve our services to meet your needs.

Vinaka Vakalevu, Dhanyabaad and Thank You.
