Vision

We will be dedicated to serving the needs of the community and the Government by providing high quality products and services in the fields of surveying, valuation, mapping and land information and the efficient administration of State land that will:

• ensure the security of Fiji land rights and interests;
• enable the people of Fiji to fully enjoy the benefits of our land and its resources; and
• meet the expectations of government and our other clients.

Mission

"The Department of Lands and Surveys will provide quality products, services and the administration structures to secure land rights, maximise the benefits from the utilisation of State Lands and its resources, and to ensure its rational use and conservation."

To achieve this, the Department of Lands and Surveys will:

• provide the cadastral and geodetic framework and associated technical and administrative systems to support secure land tenure and property rights;
• provide and maintain land information systems for managing (including identification, measurement, verification, recording and using) land and physical resource data and to support the administration and management of these resources;
• provide property valuation services to government and statutory bodies, develop and maintain valuation information services to customers;
• maintain and develop market sector opportunities both in Fiji and overseas;
• provide relevant training programmes for local staff at both local and overseas training institutions;
• create the policy and regulatory environment for the 21 st century;
• Deliver outstanding land administration services.
