Ministry's First Induction Course for the Year
The Ministry held its first 2017 Induction course for all new staff. This is a mandatory training in getting new staffs acquainted with the relevant basic knowledge of human resources, discipline and the PSC code of conduct.
Speaking to the 36 participants present, Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources Mr. Finau stressed the importance of punctuality and maintaining high standard of professionalism. Moreover, improvements of quality service delivery and the Ministry’s expectations from each individual staff to perform efficiently and effectively in accordance with our standard operation procedures.
The Deputy Secretary Mr. Nalawa, in his closing remarks showed his appreciation to the Course Coordinators for teaching and guiding staffs to what seems to be the foundation of their careers in the Ministry. In addition, he also highlighted the need to readjust ourselves and change our mind set in order to achieve the Ministry’s output and also to be competent, skillful and alert at all times.
Mr. Nalawa added that staffs need to improve process based on knowledge and experience and to comply with the legislation and policies. Furthermore, to understand the basics of work procedures in terms of the various roles officers play in their respective division within the Ministry.
The participants learned a lot from these two day workshop and hope to fulfill the expectations of the Ministry and perform to the best of their abilities.
