The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources, Valuation team distributed lease rental money to various landowners of Malahaha in Rotuma on the 14th of August, 2020.
This payout was for the following locations:

• airport lease;
• Ahau Government Station;
• PWD Depot ;
• boreholes, ice plant;
• fisheries Station; and
• quarry in Malahaha.

These sites were also inspected by the team from the Ministry.

The team from the Department of Lands witnessed a traditional welcoming ceremony called the "Mamasa" at Maftoa (District of Itumuta ) by the 7 Chiefs of the districts and the local Community.
A short Talanoa session was also held with the Chiefs and the members of the Rotuma Council.
