A team from the Mineral Resources Department (MRD) was deployed to Kia Island last week to carry out assessment and rehabilitation works on boreholes that were affected by #TC Yasa.

The assessment phase has been completed and the team is currently working on rehabilitation works.

Moreover, a compressor was dropped off at Kia Island last weekend by the Australian Defense Force (ADF) to assist in cleaning all the boreholes around the Island.

The compressor was dragged 500 meters from the beach to the valley with the villagers assistance.
