The Ministry of Lands & Mineral Resources together with Geospatial Information System (GIS) practitioners from various agencies and institutions celebrated World GIS Day 2022 with the theme “Inspiring Spatial Citizens” at the Government Information Referral Centre in Suva. The Hon. Minister Jone Usamate officiated the event stating that “World GIS Day here in Fiji has brought together our universities, government and non-government agencies, schools, and GIS professionals to showcase GIS in their various fields of work”.

The Minister appreciates the benefits of using GIS for the execution of service delivery within the Ministry in terms of in land administration and mineral development, and how it has improved the way decisions are made to better the lives of our citizens.
